This morning I’m in Manchester.
Except I’m not. I’m listening to Greek radio online and I’ve just arrived in Crete.
Because there’s magic in music.
And now the weetabix I’m eating tastes like thyme honey.
A song can take you back in time, or it can transport you halfway across the world.
Your memories will be inextricably linked to music and the story of your life will be set to its own soundtrack of a thousand songs.
So I close my eyes and there I am; staring blissfully out from the window of an airport coach at twinkly blue sea; at random goats trotting perilously close to the road; at old men sipping coffee outside street tavernas; at ancient olive trees.
It will be a little while before I physically land in Heraklion, but in my head I’m already there. The music is all it took.
Now I urge you to do the same. It’s one of the wonders of the world wide web. You can go anywhere in an instant. So where do you want to be?
Tune in to your happy place.
